Historical  In 1962, Paul Ricard created the largest private aerodrome in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region with a 1,000 m runway reserved for VFR flights.  In 1970 the construction of the racing circuit gave more activity to the aerodrome and in 1972, Paul Ricard invested by extending the runway to 1,750 m and able to accommodate planes up to 50 tons.  The airline Logistair, created in 1972, was based at the airport, but the few lines operated to Mende, Millau and Corsica did not allow it to acquire a healthy situation. It then moved to Montpellier airport, becoming Air Littoral2.  The aerodrome has experienced intense activity with the Formula 1 Grand Prix from 1971 to 1990 and since 2018
